COLUMBUS, Ohio — Tyler Bossetti, a 31-year-old social media finance influencer from Columbus, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on Monday to federal charges of wire fraud and aiding in a false tax filing, stemming from a real estate Ponzi scheme that defrauded dozens of investors out of more than $11 million.
Court documents reveal that from 2019 to 2023, Bossetti, through his company Boss Lifestyle LLC, promoted a fraudulent real estate investment program on social media platforms, including Facebook and YouTube. He promised investors returns of 30% or more on short-term investments, amassing over $23 million from victims in the U.S. and abroad.
Bossetti admitted to misappropriating investor funds to support a lavish lifestyle, including rental payments for a downtown Columbus condo, frequent travel, a $150,000 Mercedes SUV, and cryptocurrency investments. He also caused the filing of approximately 14 false IRS 1099-INT forms, reporting nonexistent interest income for investors, claiming he had reinvested earnings when he had not.
Charged by a bill of information in April 2025, Bossetti faces up to 20 years in prison for wire fraud and up to three years for aiding in a false tax filing. Sentencing will be determined at a future hearing based on advisory guidelines and statutory factors.
